The 50th Anniversary of The Day the Music Died

Commentator MalSnay reminded me that February 3 will be the 50th Anniversary of the Day the Music Died.

Dang it, I published the story about the singing cab driver two days early! Who knew? Research!

Well who knew besides MalSnay and the Jonas Brothers?

I only know it because I happened to be surfing somewhere and came across a link. I proposed that everyone at the Office sing along to Don McLean's American Pie ...

... but was soundly rejected. Fuckers.

I know Every Single Word to that 8 minute song. And I'm proud of it.

I look back on events like this and wonder where those guys would be today if the music hadn't died. So much great talent lost so early. Thanks for the reminder.

CNN had a note on it, which worked pretty well as a reminder. Then, I had the song on my head the rest of the day, which, despite how much I like it, almost led me to overdose on the song.
